Nanjing Electric won the bidding of the world’s first ±1100 kv HVDC project—State Grid Changji-Guquan ±1100 kv HVDC project, NANJING ELECTRIC got the order of about 400 thousands glass insulators.

    Changji-Guquan ±1100 kv HVDC project is the project which has the highest voltage class， biggest transmission capacity， longest transmission distance and highest technical level. The project makes the voltage class grow up from ±800 kv to ±1000 kv, the transmission capacity grow up from 6.4 to 12 million kw as well as the economical transmission distance increase to about 3000 to 5000 km.
This project is recognized as milestone, new century and advanced example of continuous innovation in the field of extra-high voltage transmission project.

    Changji-Guquan ±1100 kv HVDC project starts from Changji (Huaidong, Xinjiang Province) and ends at Guquan(Wannan, Anhui Province), passing by six provinces: Xinjiang, Gansu, Ningxia, Shaanxi, Henan, Anhui and the overall length is about 3304.7 km. Transmission capacity is 12 million kw, the voltage is ±1100 kv. This project was ratified by NDRC at 28th, December, 2015 and started constructing on May, 2016. According to the project plan, the Xinjiang part project will operate on June, 2018.

    The constructions of Changji-Guquan project is the main practice of the Belt and Road policy, contributes to the economic, society and environment a lot. The project is the second extra-high voltage transmission project which aim to achieve the “outward sending of Xinjiang electricity, it will push the construction of outward sending of Xinjiang Power Base’s thermal power, wind power and solar power, this will promise the electricity supply to Eastern China. At the same time, it will contribute a lot to reduce the air pollution, stimulate Xinjiang economic growth. When the project finished, it would transport about 66 billion kwh per year to the middle and eastern China, reduce the coal transport 3.024 million ton, dust emission 24 thousand ton, sulfur dioxide emission 149 thousand ton and nitrogen oxide 157 thousand ton.

     According to information, Nanjing Electric won the bidding of an order of 400 thousand DC toughened glass insulator which specification is 550 kN and above, the delivery date is from April, 2017 to September,2017. The order includes 20 thousand 840 kN DC product, the intensity class of this product is top among all product around the world, this is significant because it is the first time that State Grid and abroad power grid use this type of product.

    When we got the bidding information, Nanjing Electric founded a project headquarter immediately. The position Commander-in-chef is held by our general manager Mr. Shen, under his command, all the staff focus on job, definite responsibility, make sure that deliver the qualified goods on time, offer the most qualified product to national key project.

    Since we won the bidding of the Jinping-Sunan DC extra-high voltage project on 2011, Nanjing Electric has won 17 biddings from State Grid, China Southern Power Grid in total. Among all the projects, there are 6 UHVAC projects, 11 UHVDC projects. The total supply of UHV glass insulator is more than 3.2 million pieces, ranked No.1 in the industry domestically, make great efforts to West-East electricity transmission project and lots of other projects.
