Nanjing Electric (Group) co., LTD recently organized the performance test of two glass insulator products, lxp-160 and lxp-210, which have been operating on 500 kilovolt line for 30 years. This is the first time in the history of Nanjing Electric and also the first time in the same industry in China. The test results show that the glass insulator products of Nanjing Electric which have been operating on 500 kilovolt line for over 30 years have high mechanical strength and small dispersion, keep the same level with factory standard specified value of the products and do not appear the attenuation phenomenon of mechanical and electrical performance of products.
The product testing team evaluated the performance test results and made suggestions. The test group believed that the performance test value of two kinds of glass products was the same as the factory standard specified value and conformed to the requirements of GB/T1001.1-2003 national standard, it showed that the performance of two kinds of glass products which have been operating for over 30 years was stable, safe and reliable operation; The toughened internal stress of insulator glass pieces which comes from toughened heat treatment process is a kind of permanent stress, it can keep the mechanical and electrical performance of the product will not attenuate after long-time running on the line and make the product have characteristic that does not get aging easily.
The staffs who participate in the test agreed that Nanjing Electric (Group) co., LTD has accumulated a lot of valuable data and has made contributions to the insulator industry with keeping track and experimental verification of the operation quality of toughened glass insulator. The China Electric Power Scientific Research Institute recommends that the company and the electric power operating unit work together to keep track of the operation quality of toughened glass insulator and the scientific research work of the product life cycle.
